Association analysis of polymorphisms in OPRM1 gene and methadone maintenance treatment dose

Abstract:Objective To explore the association between the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of the μ opioid receptor gene and methadone maintenance treatment dose. Methods The genotypes of the six SNPs (rs6912029, rs510769, rs3798676, rs7748401, rs589046, rs2075572) in 696 patients of methadone maintenance treatment clinics in Han Chinese population were detected by Multiple PCR technology, MassARRAY iPLEX single-base extension technology and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight (MALDI-TOF) SNP genotyping technique. The past drug use and treatment information were collected by questionnaires. The association between methadone dose and the two SNPs was analyzed. Result The frequencies of genotype, allele and haplotype at six SNPs (rs6912029,rs510769,rs3798676,rs7748401,rs589046,rs2075572) were not significantly different between the high dose and the low dose groups. Conclusion There may be no significant relevance between the OPRM1 gene SNPs (rs6912029 rs510769 rs3798676, rs7748401, rs589046, rs2075572) and methadone maintenance treatment dose of heroin There may be no significant relevance between the OPRM1 gene SNPs (rs6912029, rs510769, rs3798676, rs7748401, rs589046, rs2075572) and methadone maintenance treatment dose of heroin abusers.
