Research progress on surveillance and early warning systems of foodborne disease outbreaks in schools

Abstract:Foodborne disease is one of the most widespread public health problems in the world today and its harm to human health has been highly concerned. It is proved that surveillance and early warning are the most crucial for controlling foodborne disease in schools. This paper summarizes foodborne disease in schools and compares the surveillance and early warning systems in developed countries with the domestic progress so as to learn from their valuable experience. We provide a scientific basis and practical guidance for prevention and control of foodborne disease outbreaks in schools based on thecurrent research status of surveillance and early warning systems of foodborne disease in schools in China.
