Abstract:Objective To understand the vaccination status of the non-national immunization program (non-NIP) vaccines among children aged 1-6 years in Hunan Province, and to provide a reference basis for standardizing the management of non-NIP vaccines and improving the coverage rate of non-NIP vaccines. Methods According to vaccine types, age groups, regions and registered residences, we statistically analyzed the information about vaccination of non-NIP vaccines in 1-6 years old children collected from the Vaccination Information System of Hunan Province. Results The average coverage rate of 10 non-NIP vaccines in Hunan Province was 26.20%. The average coverage rate of alternative vaccines for 4 NIP vaccines was 9.57%, and the average coverage rate of alternative vaccines for 6 non-NIP vaccines was 37.38%. The average coverage rate of non-NIP vaccines for children born in 2014-2020 showed an upward tendency with the increasing age. The average vaccination rate was the highest (32.99%) in eastern Hunan and the lowest (18.59%) in central Hunan, with a difference of 14.4%. The vaccination rate of each type of vaccine was lower in resident children than in migrant ones. Conclusion Compared with economically developed regions, the coverage rate of non-NIP vaccines in Hunan Province is still at a low level. Special attention should be paid to further improvement of vaccination of non-NIP vaccines.
