Abstract:Objective To investigate the pathogenic spectrum of respiratory syndrome in Wuhan City in 2015. Methods Real-time PCR assay was used to detect pathogens of 15 infectious diseases in 104 samples collected from Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University and Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital of Hubei Province from January to December, 2015. The composition of the pathogenic spectrum was analyzed. Results Altogether 11 kinds of pathogens were detected in 38 cases, with the total positive rate of 36.54% (38/104). Among them, 29(76.32%) cases were tested positively for viruses and 17 (44.74%)for bacteria and 8(21.05%) for coinfection. The positive rates of males and females were 32.75%(19/58) and 41.3%(19/46) respectively, indicating no significant difference(χ2=0.808, P=0.369). Infants and young children aged five years old and below were the main inflicted group. The pathogens with the top three constitutions were respiratory syncytial virus (45.45%,5/11), respiratory adenovirus (36.36%,4/11) and Streptococcus pneumoniae (27.27%,3/11). The infections with different pathogens showed different seasonality, and some pathogens displayed strictly seasonal features. Conclusions Viral pathogens are the main pathogenic bacteria inducing respiratory tract infection syndrome in Wuhan City in 2015, especially in young children, Respiratory syncytial virus, human adenovirus and Streptococcus pneumoniae are the dominant pathogens.
