Abstract:Objective To understand effect of basal level of maternal-transferred measles antibody on acquirement of passive immunization for new born, to provide basis for scientific prevention measure of measles and decreasing incidence rate of low-age infants. Methods Venous blood of the 100 parturient randomly selected in the Maternal and Child Health Hospital(MCH) in Futian District of Shenzhen city and umbilical cord blood of their neonates were collected to detect for serum antibody to measles by Measles enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Questionnaires were conducted in the parturient . Results Among the women of child-bearing age , the pregnant women and their neonates, the differences of positive rate, protective rate and GMC of measles antibody IgG were all significant (P<0.05).The measles antibody level of mothers previously infected with measles was higher than those have received measles vaccine and those have neither infected or vaccinated (p<0.05). The correlation coefficient of antibody titer between mothers and neonates was 0.9169,showed significantly positive corelation. Conclusion s The experience of infecting with measles greatly affects the measles IgG level of mothers .Concerning and effectively improving the measles antibody level of women of child-bearing age is the key to solve the "biphase displacement of morbidity of measles [1]" .
