Abstract:Objective To identify the cisAB blood group, to describe its serological and genotype characteristics, and to explore blood transfusion strategy for patients with cisAB blood group. Methods Blood group serological test was used to detect ABO blood group in 5 samples. Polymerase chain reaction with sequence specific primers (PCR-SSP) was employed to perform ABO and cisAB blood group genotyping. Exon 1-7 of the ABO genes in 3 samples were tested by sequencing based typing (SBT). Results The phenotype of sample 1 was A2Bx and the genotype was cisAB01/O02. The serotype of samples 2 and 3 was A2B, and the genotype was cisAB01/B101. The blood groups of samples 4 and 5 were AB and A, respectively. The genotyping results of ABO blood group of samples 1-3 were not consistent with the serological results. Conclusion The haplotype of cisAB01 and different ABO blood group alleles shows different phenotypes. Molecular biological detection technology is of great significance for the accurate identification of cisAB blood group, selection of appropriate blood for clinical transfusion and guarantee of blood transfusion safety.
