Efficacy of Chinese herb extracts for auxiliary reducing uric acid

Abstract:Objective To investigate the auxiliary improvement effect of Chinese herb extracts on hyperuricemia. Methods Patients with hyperuricemia received an intervention with Chinese herbal extracts, and the serum uric acid value, related safety indicators and clinical symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine were compared between the eating trial group and the control group before and after the intervention. Results No statistically significant differences were found in body weight, blood pressure, heart rate, blood routine, urine routine, stool routine and biochemical indexes between the two groups before and after the trial (all P>0.05), and all of them were within the normal range. No adverse effect on health was observed in the Chinese herb extracts. The serum uric acid value of the trial group after the trial ((383.00±83.61)mol/L) significantly decreased (P<0.01) as compared with that of the trial group before the trial ((472.01±62.85)mol/L) and that of the control group after the trial ((461.72±88.02)mol/L). The effective rate of reducing uric acid in the trial group after the trial was significantly higher than that in the control group (18.86% vs. 2.56%, P<0.05). The clinical symptom integral of traditional Chinese medicine in the trial group after the trial(3.96±1.59)was significantly lower than that of the trial group before the trial(5.12±2.65) as well as that of the control group after the trial (5.02±2.43) (both P<0.05). Conclusion The Chinese herb extracts can significantly improve the efficacy of auxiliary reducing uric acid in the population and has no obvious harm to human health.
