Abstract:Objective To explore the correlation of influenza-like illness cases with meteorological factors in Weifang city. Methods Data regarding influenza-like illness cases and meteorological factors in Weifang city during 2017-2018 were collected and sorted out. The correlation between meteorological factors and influenza-like illness cases was analyzed by drawing scattered plot and establishing generalized additive model, and Spearman correlation analysis was performed to assess relationship between influenza-like illness cases with different ages and meteorological factors. Results The peak of influenza in Weifang city mainlyoccurred when the weekly mean temperature difference was 8℃-12℃, the weekly mean relative humidity 65%-88%, and the weekly wind speed 1.50 m/s - 2.50 m/s. The hospital visiting ratio of influenza-like illness cases aged 0-15 years was significantly affected by weekly mean temperature, weekly mean air pressure, weekly mean relative humidity, weekly mean temperature difference and weekly mean wind speed (r=-0.457,r=-0.430,r=0.361,r=0.337,r=-0.410, P<0.001), while the hospital visiting ratio of influenza-like illness cases aged 60- years was significantly affected by weekly mean temperature and weekly mean air pressure (r=-0.448,r=0.401,P<0.001). The results from the generalized additive model showed that weekly mean wind speed (RR: 0.994, 95%CI: 0.998-0.996), weekly mean temperature difference (RR:1.023, 95%CI: 1.017-1.015) and weekly mean relative humidity were all correlated with the hospital visiting ratio of influenza-like illness cases. Conclusion There is a certain correlation between influenza-like illness cases and meteorological factors in Weifang city.
