Abstract:Chlamydiae are a phylum of obligate intracellular bacteria with a unique biphasic development cycle. Chlamydiae are prevalent in various countries and can cause many diseases in a wide range of hosts, including genitalia, ocular, respiratory tract and cardiovascular system diseases, which result in a sustained global burden, and poses considerable public health challenges. Vaccination has been considered to be the best way to prevent chlamydial infection, so it is urgent to develop an effective vaccine. In recent years, many scholars have been conducting research on chlamydial vaccine and also have made some progress. This review aims to give a brief introduction to the latest research progress of chlamydial vaccine.
