A study of nanometer-Pb on the serum immunoglobulin contents and T lymphocyte subsets in mice

Abstract:[Objective] To examine the effect of immune function caused by nano-Pb.[Methods] 80 mice were randomly divided into five groups includeing one control group and four exposure groups(low-dose group,middle dose group,high dose group and common PbO2 group). They received different dose of nano-PbO2 by gavage for five days continuously, the serum immunoglobulin contents and T lymphocyte subsets were measured. [Results] The serum immunoglobulin G,E,M,and the percentage of the CD4+ T lymphocyte,and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ T lymphocyte of the mice in nano-PbO2 groups were lower than that in contrast groups (P<0.05),and the combined toxicity effects to the immunological function were significantly different with those effects of individual toxicity(P<0.05),and the immune index were the lowest in high dose nano-PbO2 group(P<0.05). At the same trearment dose,the immune index of mice in nano-PbO2 group were significantly higher than that of the common PbO2 group(P <0.05). [Conclusion] This study indicates that nanometer-Pb could damage the immune function of mice,and the adverse effects above induced by nano- PbO2 were distinctly stronger than that of the common PbO2.
