Abstract:Objective To analyze the molecular biological characteristics of Vibrio parahemolyticus strains isolated from aquatic products and diarrhea patients in Fengtai District in 2013, to analyze the phylogenic relationship among the strains isolated from aquatic products and diarrhea patients, and to set up a molecular typing database for Vibrio parahemolyticus in Fengtai District. Methods Pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) was applied to molecular subtype of 72 Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains isolated from aquatic products and diarrhea patients, and BioNumerics version 5.10 software was used for clustering analysis of PFGE patterns. Results The PFGE showed that 50 strains from aquatic products could be divided into 48 patterns and 22 strains from diarrhea patients 13 patterns. Comparison of similarities of the strains revealed that 8 PFGE patterns were 100% homologous, while the similarities of other strains were all over 50%. Meanwhile, the similarity between the strains isolated from aquatic products and diarrhea patients was less than 80%. Conclusions There exist similarities in PFGE patterns of Vibrio parahemolyticus isolates from aquatic products and diarrhea patients in Fengtai District in 2013, but the correlation between them needs for further support from epidemiological evidence. The genotypes of Vibrio parahemolyticus strains from aquatic products exhibit polymorphism distribution, but no obvious predominant pulsotype of Vibrio parahemolyticus is found in the strains isolated from diarrhea patients.
