Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore relationship between dietary factors and metabolic syndrome(MS) among urban residents in Changde City , and provide dietary guidance about metabolic syndrome prevention and control . Method:1190 urban residents more the 18 years old which were selected by multistage stratified cluster sampling were surveyed by self-made dietary questionnaire and underwent metabolic syndrome screening. The logistic regression analysis were done to analyze the main dietary factors which affect the incidence of metabolic syndrome in Changde city Results:among 1190 urban residents ,318 cases diagnosed as metabolic syndrome, the prevalence was 26.7%. Male prevalence were females (P <0.01), the prevalence of MS in males was higher than in females(P <0.01). The prevalence of MS in different age groups was significantly (P <0.01), participante in 30 years of age goroup was the lowest, 50 age group was the highest. Salty diet and frequency of snack, eating out , lard eating were an important risk factors for developing MS, eating more vegetables was protective factors MS disease. Conclusion:dietary factors associated with the occurrence of MS among Changde city residents, Low-salt diet salt and eating more vegetables helps reducing the occurrence of metabolic syndrome.
