Abstract:ObjectiveTo analyze the genotype of Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from the Shenzhen suspected food-borne diseases and to obtain a primary knowledge of the use of 3 different genotyping methods. Methods59 Staphylococcus aureus were analyzed on the basis of MLMC、Spa typing and PFGE.Results59 strains were divided into 19 genotypes by MLMC, 15 genotypes by PFGE and 10 genotypes by Spa typing. The Simpson’s diversity indices for MLMC, Spa typing and PFGE were 0.92、0.87 and 0.85. Conclusiong The discriminatory power of MLMC is higher than PFGE and as a simple and fast typing method, it could be used as a first-line typing tool for the analysis for an outbreak of Staphylococcus aureus. Rational combination of these 3 tools will be of great signicance in pathogenic Staphylococcus aureus control and prevention.
