Abstract:Objective To explore the effect and influence factors of neonatal BCG vaccination of two hospitals in Changzhou and improve BCG vaccination quality and immune level. Methodtwo different grade hospitals were collected as sentinel point to supervise BCG vaccination effect for newborns receiving various batches of BCG from Jan. to Dec. 2013. Participants were conducted PPD 3-months after BCG vaccination and were observed vertical and horizontal diameter of BCG harden to assess vaccination effect. Influence factors were analyzed by Logistic aggression. ResultsA total of 2254 cases of neonatal BCG vaccination were observed and the rate of the vaccination success was 92.7%. Univariate analysis showed that different units, season, vaccine batch were the factors influencing BCG vaccination success (P <0.05); the vaccination success rate of Jintan People's Hospital was 95.15%, significantly higher than that (90.17%) of Changzhou city women and child care hospital. the difference was significant (P <0.05). the vaccination success rate in autumn was significantly higher than that in winter (χ2 = 14.080, P = 0.000). the vaccination success rate inoculated with 201003a015-1 was significantly lower than other batches. the vaccination success rate inoculated with 201003a012-2 were significantly lower than those of the batch 201101a004-1 and 201012a083-2. The differences were statistically significant (all P = 0.000). Multivariate logistic regression showed revealed vaccine batche was the factor influencing BCG vaccination success(OR=1.754,95%CI:1.477~2.084). Conclusionsthe success rates of neonatal BCG vaccination of two different grade hospitals are high, and different vaccine batche is the risk factor of inoculation.
