Abstract:Objective To study the effect of Ginseng-coenzyme Q10 mixed preparations on alleviating physical fatigue. Methods The mice were divided into the low-, medium- and high-dose Ginseng-coenzyme Q10 mixed preparation groups (0.083g/kg·bw, 0.167g/kg·bw and 0.500g/kg·bw), and then they were given Ginseng-coenzyme Q10 mixed preparations by gavage for 30 successive days. The control group was intragastrically administered with the same volume of vegetable oil. The changes of the load swimming time, the serum urea level, hepatic glycogen content, and the area under the blood lactic acid curve in these mice were observed. Results Compared with the control group, the high-dose Ginseng-coenzyme Q10 mixed preparation group could significantly improve the load swimming time (596.9±162.5 s), decrease the serum urea level (7.07±1.74) and increase hepatic glycogen content (23.294±7.955), with statistically significant differences (all P<0.05). The low-, medium- and high-dose Ginseng-coenzyme Q10 mixed preparations showed no obvious effect on the area under the blood lactic acid curve, and no statistically significant differences were found between the control group and each dose group(all P>0.05). Conclusions Ginseng-coenzyme Q10 mixed preparations has the function of alleviating physical fatigue.
