Research progress on the epidemic characteristics of HIV-1 CRF55_01B

Abstract：With unique epidemiology and genetic evolution characteristics, CRF55_01B has become one of the major epidemic strains of HIV-1 in published public reports in China. Recent HIV-1 molecular epidemiology surveillance indicates thatCRF55_01B has become the fifth major HIV-1 strain in China. In this paper, characters like the origin of its discovery,prevalence, pathogenicity, drug resistance and involved recombination have been described in detail. In addition, the possible factors of sociology and biology closely associated with the prevalence of CRF55_01B are also discussed.
