Abstract:Objective To investigate the secondary pollution of bisphenol A in barreled drinking water from drinking water machine, and to know the exposure levels of bisphenol A in barreled drinking water in residents in Shenzhen. Methods Thirty-four drinking water machines were randomly selected. Barreled drinking water with and without heating by drinking water machine was collect, and the content of bisphenol A was detected. According to the barreled drinking water intake by residents in Shenzhen, bisphenol A exposure risk was appraised by probabilistic assessment method. Results No statistically significant difference was found in the content of bisphenol A between barreled drinking water with and without drinking water machine heating (t=13, P>0.05). In the simulation tests, the exposure level of bisphenol A in the barreled drinking water ranged between 0.00-10.95 ng/(kg.d). Conclusions The exposure of bisphenol A in barreled drinking water in Shenzhen City is within the acceptable range.
