Abstract:Purpose: To study expression of Kaiso,which is a member of BTB/P0Z protein family in breast cancer and to explore its relationship with the clinical pathological features.Methods: Immunohistochemical studies were performed on 120 cases of breast cancer stage tissues of different clinical stages and 39 cases of mammary hyperplasia tissues to study kaiso expression and subcellular localization,and analyze its relationship with the clinical pathological features. Results: Immunohistochemical staining showed that in breast cancer tissues, Kaiso mainly expressed in the nucleus, nuclear positive rate was 65.00%(78/120), but in control group of mammary gland hyperplasia tissues, it rarely expressed in the nucleus. Kaiso nuclear protein expression and breast cancer TNM staging (P=0.000), lymph node metastasis (P=0.001) were positively correlated, respectively. However, there were no significant correlation(P>0.05) with breast cancer patients gender, age, and tissue differentiation degree of breast cancer. Conclusion: Kasio mainly expressed in the nucleus in breast cancer, and the expression of Kaiso was positively correlated with the malignant phenotype of breast cancer and metastasis. Kaiso may become a new tumor markers and therapeutic targets for breast cancer.
