Abstract:Objective To analyze the morbidity ofquarantinedpopulationunder medical observationduring the epidemic period of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)in Hefei city, and to provide a basis for scientific and reasonable isolation of close contacts. Methods According to Protocolon Prevention and Control ofCOVID-19 (Edition 4) issued by the National Health Commission of China, a questionnaire was developed for close contacts of local confirmed cases reported in Hefei city from January 21 to February 29 in 2020. The professional investigators conducted an interview survey on the close contacts. Results A total of 3,293 close contacts of confirmed cases were managed, of which 60 close contacts were diagnosed as confirmed cases, with the attack rate of 1.8%. The attack rate was significantly higher in close contacts of confirmed cases than in close contacts of asymptomatic patients, showing a statistically significant difference (χ2=6.822, P=0.005). The incidence due to different types of contact was different, and the attack rate owing to cohabitation was the highest (21.3%). The attack rates owing to different exposure frequencies showed statistically significant differences (χ2=126.603, P<0.001). With the decrease ofcontactfrequency, the diagnosis rate tended to decline (χ2=102.051, P<0.001). Conclusions Factors influencing incidence of close contacts are closely related to the degree and frequency of contact with patients, and there are family clustering infections. There is no specific prevention and treatment measures for the disease at present; and hence, control and management of close contacts andquarantineof close relatives as soon as possible are particularly important.
