Abstract:Objective To compile a tool for measuring job satisfaction among the staff in county-level institutions for tuberculosis prevention and control in Hunan Province. Methods By referring to domestic and overseas job satisfaction scales, investigating the relevant literatures and taking the advice from experts, the preliminary scale was formed. 612 staff members from county-level institutions for tuberculosis prevention and control in Hunan Province were enrolled to evaluate the reliability and validity of the scale. Results The reliability test indicated that Cronbach’s α coefficient of the overall scale was 0.923, and Cronbach's α coefficients of 7 subscales fell in the range 0.720-0.904. The validity test indicated that 7 dimensions could accumulatively explain 64.974% of total scale variance.ConclusionsThe compiled scale has good reliability and validity, and it can be used for measuring job satisfaction among the staff in county-level institutions for tuberculosis prevention and control.
