Abstract:Objective To investigate the specific IgG antibody levels of 3 kinds of infectious diseases, including poliomyelitis, epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis and epidemic encephalitis B among healthy population aged between 8 months and 24 years in Qinglong County in 2015 so as to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control of the above-mentioned infectious diseases. Methods Taking the township as a unit, an administrative village was randomly selected from each town to serve as the surveyed spot from March to April in 2015. The healthy people aged between 8 months and 24 years in each surveyed spot were divided into 8 age groups, and 30 people were selected from each age group. Venous blood samples of total 3,360 people were abstracted to separate serum, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect the specific IgG antibody levels of 3 kinds of infectious diseases. The differences in the levels of 3 kinds of specific IgG antibodies were analyzed. Results The positive rates of IgG antibodies against poliomyelitis, epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis and epidemic encephalitis B in the healthy population aged between 8 months and 24 years in Qinglong County in 2015 were 75.51%, 43.87% and 31.64% respectively. There were statistically significant differences in the positive rates of the 3 kinds of antibodies among people with different ages and regions (all P<0.05). The level of IgG antibody against poliomyelitis was the highest, while that of IgG antibody against epidemic encephalitis B was the lowest. The positive rate of IgG antibody against poliomyelitis was higher in the females than in the males, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). No statistically significant differences were found in the positive rates of IgG antibodies against epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis and epidemic encephalitis B. Conclusions The levels of specific IgG antibodies against poliomyelitis, epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis and epidemic encephalitis B in the healthy population aged between 8 months and 24 years in Qinglong County in 2015 are not high, and do not reach 85%, the basic level stipulated by the National Health and Family Planning Commission. It is necessary to take effective measures to let children have a full course of vaccination and improve the basic immunization coverage rate.
