Abstract:Objective To analyze and compare the level of physical activity and its influence on mortality and life expectancy in adults aged ≥ 25 years in Changshou District in 2015 and 2018. Methods Based on the chronic diseases and risk factor surveillance data and the death cause surveillance data in Changshou District in 2015 and 2018, and data about insufficient physical activity associated diseases and relative risk (RR) on Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study, the population attributable fraction (PAF) of insufficient physical activity associated diseases, the deaths caused by insufficient physical activity associated diseases and loss of life expectancy in adults aged ≥ 25 years in Changshou District were calculated. Results The proportion of enough physical activity in the total population in 2018 was 17.21%, which decreased compared with 30.77% in 2015. The attributed death numbers due to insufficient physical activity in the adults were 296 in 2018 and 243 in 2015.Ischemic heart disease was the most common cause of death, followed by ischemic stroke. The PAF for all causes of death due to insufficient physical activity in 2018 was 4.66% in the total population, 4.53% in males and 4.58% in females. Compared with 2015, the PAF of the total population and males increased, while that of females decreased. The loss of life expectancy caused by insufficient physical activity was 0.41 years in 2018, which increasedcompared with0.35 year old in 2015. Conclusion The influence of insufficient physical activity on the health of residents in Changshou Districtis becoming increasingly serious. Increasing physical activity can reduce the deathattributed to related diseases and improve the life expectancy of population.
