Abstract:Objective To evaluate the applicability and application prospect of the modified Chinese version of electronic Health Literacy Scale (e-HLS) in college students. Methods From September to November 2022, a multi-stage random sampling method was used to select 236 college students in Changsha City to participate in a questionnaire survey. The reliability and validity of the scale were analyzed statistically by SPSS 20.0 software and Amos 24.0 software. Results A total of 201 students responded to the questionnaire, with the respondence rate of 85.17%. The Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was 0.850, and the CR values of the 12 items showed statistically significant differences (P<0.01). The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value was 0.850. Bartlett sphericity test results revealed that the approximate chi-square value was 972.031 (P<0.01). Principal component analysis was employed to extract common factors for each item, and the results demonstrated that three common factors were extracted, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 74.775. The overall goodness-of-fit evaluation results of the e-HLS model were good, the value of comparative fit index (CFI) was greater than 0.900 and the value of root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) was 0.093. Conclusion The e-HLS has high applicability in electronic health literacy evaluation of college students.
