Abstract:Objective To develop a method on the determination of dichloroacetic acid(DCAA) and trichloroacetic acid(TCAA) in drinking water by ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS). Methods Water samples were filtered by 0.2μm membrance, then seperated on the column of HSS T3 with a gradient elution using acetonitrile/0.1% formic acid water ,detected by electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry in negative mode using multiple reaction monitoring. Results The linear range of DCAA and TCAA was 5.0~100.0μg/L.The correlation coefficient was above 0.999. The limit of detection and quantitation were 0.5μg/L and 1.5μg/L, respectively. At the fortified concentrations of 10.0,20.0 and 50.0μg/L for blank drinking water, the average recoveries of DCAA and TCAA were 88.9%~113.7%,with the relative standard deviation below 6.0%. Conclusions This method is simple,fast,sensitive and accurate.It is suitable for the rapid determination of DCAA and TCAA in drinking water.
