Abstract:Objective to analysis on the deaths of injury for above 60 -year-old senior citizens in Guangzhou from 2012 to 2013 and provide the scientific basis for preventing injury among elderly people. Methods Use injury death mortality to describe the level, characteristics, variation trend of different demographic characteristics and injury category of death. Results The average mortality of injury from 2012 to 2013 was 79.08/100,000. The ratio of gender between male and female was 1.14. The mortality of injury increased with age. Falling death mortality was 35.42/100,000。 It was the first cause of injury death among the seniors, accounting for 44.79% of total elderly injury deaths. The characteristics and distribution of mortality of injury were different from the age of the seniors. Five leading causes of injury deaths were the same in both gender,but different in the rank of deaths. Conclusion Falling was the first cause of elderly people death. It was necessary to improve the quality of elderly people life with multifaceted intervene. It was helpful to reduce the injury incidence in elderly people by paying more attention to the questions about cognition,psychology and physical exercise .
