Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between the intake of milk and dairy products and risk of chronic diseases in residents in Qiqihar city, and provide the evidence for developing chronic disease intervention strategies. Methods Study population were got from two communities, aged 7-70 years old in Qiqihar by stratified cluster random sampling. Data on the intake of dairy products and prevalence of chronic diseases and its affecting factors were gained by a questionnaire. Results 3023 people actually participated in the survey. 2239 participants consumed dairy products with rate 74.1%. The frequency and amount of dairy product intake was 3times/week 300 gram/week, respectively. The results showed that the prevalence of osteoporosis, hypertension, coronary heart, stroke and diabetes mellitus was 6.8%, 18.8%, 6.7%, 5.3% and 3.5%, respectively. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the intake of dairy products and its frequency and quantity were related to the risk of chronic diseases among the residents in Qiqihar. Conclusion There is a higher prevalence of chronic diseases. Increased frequency and amount of dairy products intake is helpful to prevent chronic diseases .Targeted intervention measures should be taken to prevent and control the occurrence and development of the chronic diseases.
