Abstract:Objective To comprehensively evaluate the quality of reports and disposal of water pollution emergencies in China from 2004 to 2017. Methods Technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) was used to comprehensively assess the reports and disposal of water pollution emergencies in different years and different regions, and then the results were classified according to the rank sum ratio (RSR). Results Based on TOPSIS and RSR methods, the results were divided into three degrees according to different years and different regions. The results were evaluated as good in the years 2011, 2012 and 2014, and in Anhui, Heilongjiang and Jiangsu provinces, poor in the years 2004, 2005 and 2013, and in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Liaoning and Guizhou provinces, Chongqing and Beijing cities, and medium in the others. Conclusions It is necessary to improve the reporting mechanism of water pollution emergencies, regulate the disposal of incidents, and establish qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods for the reporting and disposal of such incidents.
