Abstract:Objective To explore the diagnostic value of myeloperoxidase index (MPXI) in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). Methods Fifty patients initially diagnosed with APL, 50 patients initially diagnosed with acute monocytic leukemia (AMOL) and 50 patients without APL and AMOL were selected in the People’s Hospital of Hunan Province from January 2016 and June 2018. The levels of myeloperoxidase, fibrinogen and D-Dimer were measured, and then the result data were statistically analyzed. Results The myeloperoxidase level was significantly higher in the APL group than in the AMOL group and the negative control group (P<0.001). Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the areas under the curves for MPXI, fibrinogen and D-Dimer were 0.936, 0.841 and 0.773 respectively. When the cut-off point was determined at 11.35, the sensitivity and specificity of MPXI for the diagnosis of APL were 84.6% and 97.2% respectively. Conclusion MPXI provides valuable clinical information for early diagnosis of APL.
