Abstract:Objective To analyze the epidemiological features of measles epidemics among population participated in measles vaccine supplementary immunization activity in 2010 in Hebei province during 2015-2016, and to provide a scientific basis for formulating strategies to quickly control and eliminate measles prevalence. Methods The information about measles cases monitored in Hebei province in 2015-2016 was collected, and an epidemiological analysis of population participated in measles vaccine supplementary immunization activity and whole population was conducted by using descriptive study. Results The incidence rate of measles was lower in population with measles vaccine supplementary immunization than in whole population. The peak incidence in population with measles vaccine supplementary immunization was from April to May, but that in whole population was from March to May. The proportion of cases with vaccine immunization history in population with measles vaccine supplementary immunization was 67.80%, while that of cases without vaccine immunization history in whole population was 69.06%. As for the case-controlled study based on hospital exposure history as the exposure factor, no statistically significant difference was found in the exposure rate between the case group and the control group in population with measles vaccine supplementary immunization. Conclusions Population with supplementary immunization vaccination was found to be the low incidence group in measles epidemics in Hebei province in 2015-2016; and hence, measles vaccine supplementary immunization activity in 2010 still played a certain role in prevention and control of measles epidemics in 2015-2016.
